Organizers presented the honor to the Algerian representatives at the conclusion of the four-day program.

Global Competition and Participation

More than 190 countries participated in the FIRST Global Challenge 2026. Representatives from these nations gathered in Incheon to compete in the international robotics tournament. Samsung Electronics Algeria and the Altis Training Center supported the Algerian team throughout the event. Officials organized the competition to encourage collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds. The program spanned four days, during which participants engaged in technical challenges and cross-cultural exchanges. Attendees showcased various robotic projects developed for the tournament. The scale of the event reflected the global interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. Organizations from around the world sent delegations to engage in the activities held in South Korea. The final ceremonies concluded the participation of all 190 countries on 10 October.

Team Composition and Support

The Algerian delegation featured 5 high school students, one coach, and a supervisor who managed the team’s activities during the tournament. These individuals represented their country throughout the technical challenges and events hosted in Incheon.

Financial and logistical support for the group came from Samsung Electronics Algeria and the Altis Training Center. These two organizations provided the resources necessary for the students to compete in the international robotics program and attend the ceremonies held in South Korea.

This specific achievement at the FIRST Global Challenge 2026 contributed to Algeria’s standing in the overall tournament rankings. The performance placed Algeria among the top 20 countries globally in terms of total awards won throughout the history of the competition.

Beyond the competitive events, the team members conducted an official visit to the National Fire Research Institute (NFRI) in South Korea. This excursion occurred in mid-October 2026, following the conclusion of the formal robotics matches. The visit allowed the students to engage with the facility’s staff and observe current research developments during their time in the country.
