Abdelkader Bengrina, president of the El-Bina (construction) Movement, on Saturday called for national unity against divisive agendas, speaking at the closing ceremony of his movement’s summer university. Bengrina emphasized the importance of safeguarding national institutions and noted the role of the "army of the nation." He specifically referenced the Movement for the Self-Determination of Kabylie (MAK), a separatist movement, which Algerian authorities have classified as a terrorist organization.
Unity and Sovereignty Pillars
Abdelkader Bengrina, president of the El-Bina Movement, stated that "protecting Algeria today begins with rejecting any project aimed at fragmenting the country’s collective memory in the service of divisive agendas, including separatist movements such as the Movement for the Self-Determination of Kabylie (MAK), which is classified as a terrorist organization by Algerian authorities." Bengrina characterized projects targeting Algeria’s unity and sovereignty as efforts to "sow the idea of a rupture between part of the Algerian people and their homeland." He asserted that Algeria’s strength has consistently rested, and will continue to rest, in the unity of its people and their solidarity with the People’s National Army. Confronting these challenges requires rejecting any attempt to transform regional identity into a political project directed against the national state. Bengrina emphasized that the unity of the Algerian people and their army constitutes one of the country's key pillars of national protection. He reaffirmed his confidence in the People’s National Army, referring to it as the "army of the nation."
Addressing Citizen Concerns
Abdelkader Bengrina stressed the necessity of strengthening vigilance to comprehend and tackle the diverse economic, political, social, and intellectual challenges confronting the country and the nation. He urged the El-Bina Movement to actively address citizens' aspirations. This effort, Bengrina noted, should be undertaken while considering the state’s capabilities and ensuring that demands remain realistic. Bengrina called for confronting these challenges with renewed thinking, firm determination, conscious resolve, and appropriate programs. Bengrina emphasized the importance of preparing for the upcoming local elections, signaling their significance for the movement's objectives.
Vigilance and Future Challenges
Abdelkader Bengrina praised Algeria's security institutions for their vigilance and ongoing efforts to safeguard the nation's security and unity. He called for these challenges to be confronted with renewed thinking, firm determination, conscious resolve, and appropriate programs, stating that such approaches should remain "away from emotions, whims, score-settling and narrow-minded perspectives." Bengrina described the upcoming local elections as the true test of the El-Bina Movement’s organizational and political work. He also noted these elections as an opportunity to serve citizens and address their concerns at the grassroots level. He stressed the need to prepare for the upcoming local elections, which include municipal and wilaya elections.
El-Bina Movement's Role
Abdelkader Bengrina, president of the El-Bina Movement, urged a shift from theoretical training to practical fieldwork, emphasizing the importance of addressing citizens' concerns and maintaining close contact with them. He called for a transition from training to fieldwork by taking up citizens’ concerns, going out into the field, and maintaining close contact with them. Bengrina called for the formation of broad alliances with genuine patriots and the launch of meaningful initiatives at the local level. He also advocated for providing qualified individuals with greater opportunities, establishing clear plans, and fostering a team spirit in preparation for the upcoming municipal and wilaya elections.
