Algeria's Minister of Industry Yahia Bouchair and Minister of Vocational Training and Education Nasima Rahhab recently chaired a coordination meeting to follow up on the implementation of the "National Reference for Training and Competencies" (RNFC) project. Industry Sector Pilot Progress
Work on the industry sector, designated as a pilot sector for the National Competency Framework project, is nearing completion. The recent coordination meeting reviewed the results from the initial stages of this project, which show significant progress. These initial stages included a full training workshop specifically for officials within the Ministry of Industry, equipping them with the necessary tools and understanding for the framework's application.
Additionally, coordination meetings were held to prepare the sectoral statistical program for job and skill mapping. To apply the methodology for identifying and evaluating skills, field visits were conducted to the industrial complexes "Gica", "AGM", and "SNS". The primary goal of these visits was to rigorously apply the methodology for identifying and evaluating skills directly within operational industrial environments. Following these preliminary steps, preparation has now begun for a full program to inventory professions and competencies within the sector, providing a detailed overview of the existing skill landscape.
