The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 'Select USA' investment summit. "This dynamic opens wide and multiple prospects for partnership between the companies of the two countries," Moula stated. He added that Algeria "aspires to achieve high-tech projects that require raw materials and expertise" across strategic sectors such as pharmaceuticals and energy. Brunns confirmed his "great confidence in the future of economic relations between the two countries."

Strategic Sectors Explored

Discussions between Algerian and U.S. Representatives encompassed a range of strategic sectors, including industry, pharmaceuticals, energy, agriculture, mining, and modern technologies. The engagement noted areas deemed critical for future economic cooperation and development between the two nations.

Both sides also explored potential support for the Algerian textile industry. This included discussions on the provision of cotton and the development of joint value chains designed to enhance the sector's capabilities and output. The focus on specific industries demonstrates a detailed approach to identifying and cultivating economic partnerships.

Partnership Frameworks Discussed

Partnerships in the joint production of goods and services are a key focus, with Algeria seeking collaboration in strategic sectors such as pharmaceuticals, energy, agriculture, mining, modern technologies, and digital industries. Moula also noted the development of Algeria's textile industry and its increasing need for cotton, a commodity the U.S. Can supply. The discussions included a proposal for establishing balanced customs tariff mechanisms. Moula outlined this, saying, "The possibility of establishing balanced customs tariff mechanisms based on the 'win-win' principle, applied to the import of American raw materials for processing in Algeria before exporting part of them in the form of finished products to the United States." This approach aims to facilitate the processing of U.S. Raw materials within Algeria, with a portion of the finished products intended for re-export to the U.S. Market.

US Perspective and Future Outlook

Thomas Brunns expressed satisfaction with Algeria's increasing participation, noting improvements in both quality and quantity. Brunns confirmed his "great confidence in the future of economic relations between the two countries, confirming his desire to intensify joint activities from forums and virtual meetings and others, in order to better introduce Algeria and its capabilities to American businessmen, considering that this constitutes a starting point for a fruitful economic dialogue, and proposing to organize a regular annual meeting between the two parties to follow up and evaluate the progress of the committed projects." He also noted a significant increase in the number of major companies participating from Algeria. The United States views itself as a historical partner for Algeria in these economic endeavors. Separately, the Algerian delegation engaged with representatives from the governor's team of Mississippi. Discussions during this meeting focused on identifying opportunities for developing joint projects across various sectors.
